Trick or Treat

It is Halloween!

Halloween is so much more fun with little kids.  Payton was so excited for Halloween this year and really got Lincoln excited about it too.  She was coaching him all day on what to say when you go trick or treating.   :o)

While we were waiting for the evening festivities to begin, we made Ghosts.  Once again, I love Pinterest!   Dip cotton balls in glue, stick them to a paper and Voila you have ghosts.  Haha!  They were both excited about this craft and were asking to do it.  Yay!

Our evening began with dinner at Ralph and Michelle's house.  Which is where I took the only pictures for the evening.  I know, I know, bad mommy.

Bet you thought Lincoln was going to be Spiderman.  Haha!  I thought so too he rarely takes the costume off.

Say hi to Jessie and Woodie!  They were such troopers and Trick or Treated until around 9.  No complaining about being tired or feet hurting.  Payton even wanted to keep going until her bucket was full. She almost made it.

Our ward also held a Trunk Or Treat. Auntie Jen, Uncle Anthony, Caeden, Maddix all joined us and the kids got to trick or treat together.

 Happy Halloween!

Guess who is 12 weeks old!

Little Austin is 12 weeks old!  Where did the time go?  How did he get so big?

Austin is a happy baby.  He smiles A LOT.  He has found his hands.  He has found his voice.

My favorite thing to do with him is to make eye contact with him and just sit and talk to him.  He gives me the biggest smiles and make the cutest noises.  It warms my heart.

He is a very captivating little boy and loves to have your attention.  I have noticed that if I get busy he will stare at me until I look at him and as soon as eye contact is made he cracks the biggest smile.  I love it!

Mummies

I love Pinterest!  Today we made mummies.  My favorite part of this little art project was watching Lincoln try and glue the paper towel strips onto the toilet paper roll with his spiderman mask on.  He never quite puts it on straight and always has his head tilted on way or another so that he can see.  Haha!  So cute!

The Pumpkin Patch

Every year we take the kiddos to the pumpkin patch around Halloween and this year is no different.  I just love the pictures we get.  I remember going for Payton's first Halloween and propping her up against a couple of pumpkins, she was so small and the pictures were so cute.

I have a great appreciation for professional photographers.  How do they get all the kids to look at the camera at the same time? Do they actually get a picture with all the kids looking at the camera at the same time or are they wizards in Photoshop?  I think Photoshop and I need to become better friends.  :o)

I was hoping to get a picture of Austin by himself, and I did try, but I think he is just too little.  I brought a little blanket and propped him up against two pumpkins...didn't work.  Haha!  Oh well.

These pictures are some of my favorites from the day.

It was so fun watching them run around looking at everything.  I love their imaginations, Payton and Lincoln spent half the time picking the straw up off the ground and pretending the straw was tickets for the train.

Gilroy Gardens and Bernal Ward Fall Festival

My sister got us all together to see the Halloween decorations at Gilroy Gardens.  There were so many kids running around in costumes, including Caeden.  She was the cutest little cat I ever saw.  I wish I would have thought to dress Payton and Lincoln up.

I think we must have this same picture for every time we go to Gilroy Gardens.  :o)  They love this ride and go on it every time we come.  Today they went on it 3 or 4 times in a row.  It isn't the X from Six Flags but I guess it is an exciting ride for them.  Haha!

The plan was to leave Gilroy Gardens at 3 so that we could get back in time for the Fall Festival at 5.  We pulled out of the parking lot at 3:45.  I was so mad at myself for getting a late start for home.  And then I got frustrated when Dave wasn't able to bail me out because he hadn't left work when he thought he was going to.  As I drove home from Gilroy Gardens I figured that by the time I got home I would have about 40 minutes to prepare a pasta dish for the Fall Festival, get the kids in their costumes, and nurse the baby.  So as soon as we pulled into the driveway we hit the ground running.  I know Dave was just trying to help because he knew I was frustrated but kept calling at the most inopportune times...One time he called, I was nursing Austin while cooking the pasta dish.  After talking to a friend of mine, I realize that I shouldn't put so much on my plate and should have just went and bought a premade pasta dish.  Haha!  Probably should have.

The Festival turned out to be a lot of fun for the kiddos.  Payton was Jessie, Lincoln was Woody, and Austin was Buzz.  So cute!

The Pumpkin Walk.  Payton won several times and we ended up bringing home a lot of goodies.

Oh and we can't forget about the donut on the string game.  Haha!  They totally used their hands.

Halloween Festivities

Today our Gilroy play date was at my friend Aimee's house.  I love when playgroup is at her house because I usually get to hang out after and visit for a while.  :-)

For play group today Aimee had prepared a little Halloween activity for the kiddos to do.  They each got to make little foam pumpkins.  Anytime stickers are involved it is a hit with my kids.  Haha!  These were their creations before they were totally done.  Hey, at least I remembered I had a camera and took a picture.  :o)

After putting together the pumpkins, the kids found the dress ups.  I was cracking up with the combinations they came up with.  Payton said she was a green leaf. Haha!

Ben pretended to shoot Lincoln and today was the first day I saw Lincoln pretend to be hit, fall down on the floor, and play dead complete with sound effects.  It was so funny, especially with him dressed like this.

Tonight was Almaden Country School's Pumkin Carving Night.  I am so glad Michelle was able and willing to come with us.  Dave had to work and I am not sure I would have sanely been able to handle kids through all the activities. The kids were both so excited to be there.  It was so fun to see their excitement.  It was also fun to watch Payton when she saw her friends.

I have never seen a person carve a pumpkin as fast as Michelle did.  The kids drew the faces they wanted on their pumpkins and she cut the pumpkins for them.

They had a bunch of activities for the kids to participate in.  As a result, Payton and Lincoln were too excited to eat dinner and just wanted to do and see everything.  They were super excited about the balloon lady and were surprisingly willing to wait in a long like to get their balloons.

They were also excited about the donut on a string game.  And who wouldn't be.  Yummy!

There was also a magic show.  Dave got there late and was not impressed but the "magician" had the kids undivided attention.  :o)
