Don't Say No...
I get the feeling that I say "no" a lot. The other day Payton was asking me for something, I can't remember what. She probably wanted to watch Cinderella for the third time that day. Anyway, she said "Mommy, don't say no."

Moving Day
Funny thing about moving day...I didn't really know it was "moving day". I know what you are thinking, "How could you not know it was moving day?"
Well, I knew we were moving everything from the storage unit but I didn't know we were moving everything from the house too. It wasn't until we were almost done moving everything from the storage that Dave said, "I will be over to the house in about an hour to start loading up". To which my response was, "What?"
I am the type of person that likes everything organized. The packing that happened in the next couple of hours was definately not organized. I am convinced that I am still missing boxes. :)
The good news is we are in our new house!

Somebody say yes.
My mom, Payton, Lincoln, and I were on our way to Joann's fabric to pick up material for a couple of projects we were working on. As we were taking the exit this is the conversation that took place.
P: Are we going to the store?
Me: Yup.
P: Can we go to the store and get some yogurt for Payton?
Me: Yogurt? We aren't going to that kind of store, we are going to get some fabric to make presents for your Auntie Jens.
P: Yes, but after can we go to the store and get yogurt for Payton?
Me: Silence...(Mom and I look at each other laughing, wondering where the yogurt thing is coming from)
P: Somebody say yes.
It was so cute.

Oops!
At the end of this very, very long day. Dave looked to his friend Jefferey and said, "let's just hang the doors and call it a day" thinking, "let's just do something easy". Here is what followed.
While putting in the hall closet door, they stripped the screws from the top two hinges right out of the door.
Hung a door upside down.
And hung the wrong door in the wrong frame.
LOL So much for "something easy".

Back Splash...Done
Have you ever had those moments when you see a short video or tutorial on how to do something and think to yourself, "I could totally do that"? Well, I did and...we did!
I will admit that the video I watched did not include everything we needed to know and there was a little bit of a learning curve. That is why we started with the part of the back splash that is well hidden. Ha! Ha! By the time we got around to the part that is most visible we were pros!
This is us working with mortar to hang to tile. At first we used way too much mortar...what a mess.
Time to grout. Again used way too much at the beginning. By the time we got to the end we were scraping the bottom of the bucket and using any excess grout we could find anywhere. I was determined to finish without having to go to back to the store to get more grout.
The finished product...
Not bad for amateurs.

New Floor
Dave did a great job of installing the floor. It took a lot longer than any of us anticipated. I believe I was told that it took 6 hours to install 4 particular boards. Don't ask...
(the 4 boards...)
Dave couldn't have done this without the help of many people Jefferey, Ralph, Jefferey, my dad, and did I mention Jefferey. :o) Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to eveyone that helped.
This is the closest to a finished floor shot that I got. Moving day...pay no attention to the boxes. :o)
