Sick Payton

Well yesterday Payton woke up at 10 and then went back down for a nap at 1. She didn't get up from that nap until 6. Then back to bed at 9:30. Obviously she still doesn't feel good.

So you ask what did I do all day. Absolutely nothing. I didn't think she was going to be down for that long and then I kept thinking that she'd wake up in a little bit and never started anything. Oh well.

This morning as I walked into the gym the sweet lady at the front desk asked if I was expecting a little one. I almost inocently said, "What are you talking about?" :o) I guess I am officially showing. LOL I have seen them looking at me suspicously for the past week, I was just waiting for someone to say something. Nice.

It Is Done!

I did it! I finished the quilt yesterday! I will be the first to admit that you can definately tell an beginner sewer did it but that is OK. Yehaw! Payton seemed to really like it and that is all I care about.

Payton feeling better was short lived. Last night her temperature went back up to 102 degrees. Yikes! She has done an aweful lot of crying these last couple of days. I wish I knew what was wrong so that I could try to make it better. I have to admit that all the crying has frazzled my nerves. I hope she feels better soon.

On a lighter note, my mother and I took the opportunity to trim Payton some bangs while she was in one of the ups this morning. I took some pictures to document the event.

Quilting

I can see the end in sight. I finished quilting the quilt I am working on for Payton. The only thing I have left is the edging or border or whatever you call it. I am hoping that I bought enough of it and that I can finish it soon.

Payton, Payton, Payton. After lunch she became very indecisive. She wanted to go to the park, she didn't want to go to the park. She wanted to go to the pool, she didn't want to go to the pool. It seemed like I just couldn't make her happy. When we got back from tthe pool I just decided to put her down for a nap because she would stop crying.

She went to sleep right away and stayed asleep for almost two hours. When she woke up she was hot, hot, hot and wouldn't stop crying. I felt so bad, we could tell she just didn't feel good but we couldn't figure out what was wrong. She had a temperature and we couldn't get her to eat or drink anything. Finally I just picked her up and rocked her until she calmed down.

I am glad to say that she seems a little better this morning. I just can't believe how hard it was for me to see her like that. It broke my heart.

Sidewalk Chalk

So in my efforts to find things to keep Payton entertained I thought I would try and tap into her artistic side. Last week I bought a bunch a different art supplies (big crayons, sidewalk chalk, and finger paints). My mom thought these axctivities might be a little to old for her but I say "Hey, let's just try it."

This morning was the maiden voyage for the sidewalk chalk. I might of had more fun than she did but I think she enjoyed it too. I drew...badly and she carried around the chalk, scribbled a little on the driveway and a little on the garage door. :o)

I am excited to see her learn how to hold pens, pencils, chalk, etc... and also how to use them.

A Chair Just Her Size.

So ever since I saw the little couch that my friend Jessica recovered I have been on the search for a little chair for Payton. She just loves things that are her size. I just never realized how expensive those little chairs are. Yikes! My mother and I went to just about every store in Gilroy that we could think of that would carry them. We finally found some at the Home Goods store.

Payton saw this pink and white chair and fell in love. She wouldn't get out of the chair. It was so funny, she jumped into it leaned back and sighed in contentment. Very cute. These chairs were still more than I wanted to spend but they were willing to give me a discount due to how dirty it was (I figured I could clean it up). I asked them to hold it for me. Payton cried and cried as we left.

I talked to Dave about it and we decided to go ahead and get the chair. I went back to the store on Saturday with my mom. As soon as Payton saw the chair she ran for it. I think we made a good desicion.

She has been in and out of that chair since we got it. I am so glad we got it. I love watching her in it.
