Disneyland

Yup, you guessed it.  We went to Disneyland.  So.  Much.  Fun.  Once again I am grateful to have used the RideMax app to plan out our day.  Not only did it guide us away from the big crowds but gave us pointers like which line to stand in when the line splits.

We got to the park nice and early, about an hour before it opened and were able to get a jump start on the fast pass line for the Racers ride in Cars Land.  Last year Lincoln was just a little too short and was crushed when he couldn't go on it.  This year thanks to a few growth spurts he was over the minimum height requirement for all the rides he wanted to go on.

Lincoln LOVED the Racers ride.  Payton did not.  Haha!  On a positive note, with our fast pass we walked ride on.  Payton didn't have much time to panic.  So awesome!

The many faces of Lincoln.  These pictures crack me up every time I see them.

Did you know that Disneyland has a petting zoo?  It does! And it is the cleanest petting zoo I have ever been too.  We even got to meet one of the horses that pulls the trolleys around the park.  This is Eddie.

Funny story about Lincoln.  There was a hand washing station to use when your were done petting the animals.  Up until this point, all bathroom and/or hand washing stations were motion activated.  However, this particular hand washing station was old school.  You had to turn the knob for the water to come out and everything.  :O)   When Lincoln was done washing his hands he went up to the paper towel dispenser and waved his hands in front of it to trigger the paper towels to come out. Only nothing happened.  There was a moment of confusion before he realized you just pull the towels out the bottom.  It cracked us up.

They also had an Iron Man Display.  Lincoln was so excited to see the suits.

As we were getting ready to leave Minnie Mouse came out and we were able to meet her.  She was so sweet and even came to the stroller to say hi to Lincoln.  Unfortunately he was all out of smiles.  Haha!

Each year we let the kids pick out one thing for a souvenir and this year Payton wanted Minnie Mouse Ears with a princess crown and veil.  Immediately I think, "No, you will never wear them after we leave today."  But she insisted that is what she wanted.  I think Dave was thinking the same thing because he came out of the store with a hat for each of the kids that they can wear again next year.  And let her pick out another souvenir.
Lincoln wanted the gun you see in the picture with Minnie.  Payton ended up getting a Plush Princess Dolly that turns from Ariel to Aurora.

We had such a great time!

A Trip to the Beach

Today we went to the beach.  Compared to the weather in San Jose the weather here in San Clemente has been very mild.  In fact, it has been overcast most of the time but the temperature has been pleasant.  Which made the day at the beach a lot of fun, not too hot and not too cold.

Today was Austin's first trip to the beach and he has proven to be quite the water/beach baby.  He had a blast!  He played with the sand toys and we even took him to get his feet wet in the shoreline.  When we were done he had sand EVERYWHERE.

The big kids had lots of fun too. They loved splashing in the waves, filling buckets with sand and/or water, and then washing off rocks, shells, shoes, even other sand toys in the buckets.  It was really fun to watch them.

Highlights from San Clemente - Day 2

Payton and Grace going through the hand me downs that we brought to give to Grace.  Payton was so cute and layed all the clothes out to show Grace all the different outfits she could make.

One of the items that Grace was really excited about were the tap shoes.  She ran and put on her tutu and danced around the condo.  She is so adorable.

In the afternoon we spent some time around in the pool.  Lincoln has become so very brave and decided he LOVES to jump in.  I love that he is becoming so comfortable in the water but his confidence scares me at the same time.
This evening we walked up to the yogurt shop.  While not the same as Sweet Retreat or my beloved Treat Ice Cream Co. Frozen Yogurt it is still pretty yummy.  The kids love running up and down the row of ice cream machines and choosing their own flavors.  I love watching them dig in.

We made it to San Clemente!

We are finally on vacation!  After a long drive we made it to San Clemente.

We started our trip off by forgetting Austin's bubba.  Whoops!  Fortunately, we were only a couple blocks from the house.  Then about 30 minutes after our trip started again.  Poor Lincoln got car sick.  Not pretty and it certainly didn't smell good.  And finally Austin decided that he did NOT want to be in the car anymore.  Haha!  All in all a great ride.  :o)

We all love coming to San Clemente.  We have so much fun going to the beach, swimming in the pool, and visiting the local frozen yogurt shop.  :o)

Once we all got settled we decided to take a walk down to the beach and pier to watch the sunset.

We also visited the swings on the beach.  Always lots of cute photo opportunities.

So fun!  What will tomorrow bring?

Gilroy Gardens

I had the great idea to go to Gilroy Gardens between picking Payton up from her sleepover at Amma's house and going to our friend's birthday party.  I didn't realize when I first mentioned it that it was going to be 115 degrees outside.  Yikes!  Dave had the great idea to bring a spray bottle, it is amazing how much that spritz of water helped.

Thank goodness for the water features at the park.  It took being miserable to having fun in no time flat.  Even Baby Austin joined in on the fun.

I loved the action shots if you couldn't tell.  Haha!
