Castle Air Museum

Today we ventured to Castle Air Base Museum with my grandma, parents, Caeden, and Maddix.  There are a ton of planes there on display and it was so fun to go around looking at all of them.  It was really hot but the kids did well and seemed to really enjoy themselves.

Everyone started off really interested in all the planes and gradually by the end only Lincoln was left.  Everyone else was in search of shade or somewhere to sit.  He had a great time looking at the different planes and asking questions about them or exclaiming the differences in each one.

One of my favorite exclamations from Lincoln was, "Grandpa, Look at that big bullet!"  He was so cute.

I love that I caught this picture of my grandma and Austin.  It was a precious moment.

After lunch at the museum, we decided to head back to grandma's house to relax.  Everyone just seemed to be tired and cranky.  I am so glad my mom suggested bringing one of our inflatable pools, it was just what the kids needed.  I am so excited with these shots of Lincoln in the pool.  He has the best expressions.

We had such a great time visiting and sharing traditions from when I was younger like grandma's pancakes and our mutual love of ice cream.  :O)  I hope we can do it again soon!

Father's Day

The kids are always so excited for any excuse to do breakfast in bed and that is exactly what we do on Father's Day.

Waffles with fruit puree, whipped cream, and chocolate chips and OJ to drink.  Yummy!

The kids picked out a singing card to accompany his gifts and thought it was the greatest thing.  They were so excited for him to open it and then even more excited when he pretended that it startled him.  I love their faces in this picture.

They love their daddy so much.  It is awesome!  We are so grateful to have him.

One of Dave's Father's Day gifts was Star Wars Legos.  Lincoln was so excited to help put them together...and so was Austin.

After church we had my family and Dave's family over for dinner.  It is so nice that we all live close enough to get together like that.  Anyway, Payton decided that she wanted to make cupcakes for Dave.  She has a little cookbook in her play kitchen so she asked him what kind he thought he might like and was determined to make them for him.  She pretty much made them by herself.  I just helped with measuring out the ingredients.  She is growing up way too fast.

Dave joked that I should have taken pictures of the cupcakes and added the picture to the Pinterest fail collection.  Haha!  The cupcakes turned out beautiful and tasted great but really flopped when we tried to decorate them like in the book.  Oh well, at least they tasted good.

Swimming Lessons

Well, we are a week into swimming lessons.  Payton and Lincoln are doing great and I am so excited to see all that they are learning.  I love that they are having fun.

I love that Lincoln goes off the diving board once every day.  Once, just once and then he is done.

I think it is funny that Payton refuses to go off the diving board and that I have to tell her everyday that she needs to at least jump off the side in the deep end.  I also think it is funny that she is laying on the deck flirting with her teacher.  Haha!

I love that they are getting more and more comfortable in the water.

It has been so fun staying for open swim after swimming lessons everyday.  Austin went from not wanting to be in the water at all to jumping in.  I can't believe he is my baby.

Love the baby pool!

Children's Discovery Museum

It seems we have lots of fun things planned this week.  Today we ventured to the Children's Discovery Museum with Grandma, Caeden, Maddix, Coyo, and Adrian.

The kitchen area is always a favorite.  It was quite crowded today and I actually had to stop a boy from pushing my little Austin out of his way and taking all the things he was playing with.  I don't think the boy knew what to do when I confronted him.  Haha!

Lincoln went straight for the water play area.  He would have stayed there the entire time if everyone else hadn't wanted to see other things.

Everyone had fun playing with the clay.  They were supposed to be making 3D maps but decided to get creative.  Payton made a face and Lincoln made a plane.  I love the picture of him flying his plane, he has such a joyful look on his face.

Coyo and I took the little ones to a different play area for the smaller kids.  Austin really had a great time exploring there too.  I think the sand area was the biggest hit.  Austin and his cousin Maddix loved playing there.  Filling up little containers, scooping it up and then pouring it out what more could you ask for.

Gilroy Gardens

After swimming lessons we headed down to Gilroy to meet up with Great Grandma, Grandma, Caeden, and Maddix at Gilroy Gardens.

When we go to Gilroy Gardens we typically move through the park in the same order and go on the same rides.  Unfortunately, that mean we usually don't make it to part of the park.  Today we started in a different place and the kids ended up going on a few new rides, which they loved.  One of the rides was the paddle boat ride.  Lincoln had a blast, his legs were a little short to reach the pedals but he did his best to help me paddle.  A few times we got caught in a current and had a little bit of trouble steering, thankfully we still made it back to the dock.  :o)

Austin found that he could hang from the rings in the playground.  He is getting to be such a big boy.

Another new ride was the little Merry Go Round.  Austin has always been scared to ride on the big Merry Go Rounds, but he surprisingly enjoyed this one.  He seemed a little nervous at first but then he got this look on his face that seemed to say, "Look at me, I am a big boy."

I am so grateful that Great Grandma was able to come and spend the day with us.

Payton's First Day of Gymnastics

Payton has been asking and asking to start gymnastics since she watched Lincoln in his gymnastics program.  Today was her first day.  She did so well.  I was afraid that she would be nervous or afraid to try doing forward rolls or cartwheels but that was not the case at all.  I was having such a good time watching her.  I hope she continues to like it.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons started today.  The kids did really well, no tears!  Anyway, Lincoln surprised me by going off the diving board.  So proud of my little man.

Meeting Andrew

Auntie Ashley has been dating a boy named Andrew since October.  Today we finally got to meet him and let me just say that all my kids are big fans.  Haha!  Payton read every book she could find to him, Lincoln showed him his different tricks, and Austin brought him a bunch of toys.

After dinner we took a stroll to visit the chickens.  Look!  There is Hunger the chicken.

On our way to the pond we got a close up of some deer.  So fun!  And so surprising considering the loudness of the wagon we were pulling. :O)

When we got back to the house and were getting in the car to leave both Payton and Lincoln asked when they were going to see Andrew again.  Haha!  It was nice getting to meet you Andrew!

Payton's Dance Recital

Today was Payton's dance recital.  She did so well and looked so cute.

She has been taking a combo ballet/tap class this past year.  Some weeks I didn't think we were going to make it to the recital, she just did not want to go to class for one reason or another.  I told her she just had to go until the recital and then she could be done if she wanted to be.

Her dances went well or as what you would expect of a group of 5 and 6 year olds.  Haha!  I loved watching her.

Circle Loom

We decided to try the Circle Loom on for size.  Auntie Ashley came over and taught us how to make hats.

Lincoln did pretty well for about two times around the loom and asked me to finish his hat.  Haha!

Payton stuck with it a little longer, maybe four or five rows.  Haha!  However, she did try to multitask while doing it.

I think they would have enjoyed it better if it took less time to complete.
