Cookies!

I have a very talented friend.  I am constantly amazed at the things she can do.  One of the things she does that I think would be so fun to know how to do is decorate cookies.

I asked her if she and her girls would want to come over for a cookie making play date.  One so I could learn how to decorate cookies but also so I could hang out with my friend.  :o)

As recommended, I made a batch of cookies ahead of time to decorate on the day and quickly I realized that I needed to have someone teach me the technique of making these sugar cookies.  Mine were looking horrible.  Fortunately, Jessica also made some cookies too and we were able to decorate her batch.  Ha!  Ha!  She even brought some dough for me to cut out and bake.  How nice is my friend.  :o)

I think the cookies turned out pretty awesome.  What's better is that I went on to make another batch of cookies and decorate them all by myself.  Yes!!!  Thanks Jessica!

Look at what I can do!

I wish I had taken before and after pictures...

About a year ago I bought those vinyl chair covers.  In the pictures they looked pretty decent but in real life they looked very white trash.  Soon after I put the covers on the chairs they started ripping.  The kids would pull them off.  They were a mess.

In a trip to the fabric store I found some vinyl and thought that with a little help I could just cover the fabric cushions with it.  So I guessed on how much I needed and bought it.  Then there it sat in the office for about a month before I called my mom and asked if she would come and help me.  Ha!  Ha!

Well, today my mom came out and helped me get started.  Unfortunately, we ended up being about 4 inches too short to cover all six chairs but did get four of them covered.  They look soooo much better.  Yay!

Crafting

My friend Jenae sent out an email inviting anyone interested in crafting for the afternoon over to her house.  I thought this would be a great opportunity to get out my Silhouette, visit with friends, and let the kids play (especially to give Lincoln the opportunity to play with another boy).  I feel like he is always terrorizing the girls.  Ha!  Ha!

I was successful in getting a few things cut out for the kids for St Patricks Day crafts.  Yay!

The kids played really well together.  They loved peeling oranges from the tree in Jenae's backyard.  I couldn't help but take a picture it was so cute.  Lincoln got how to peel the oranges but didn't stop at the peel.  He just kept on taking the orange apart and throwing each piece on the ground until he had nothing left. LOL

Then there was Payton who carefully peeled her orange and got all of the white stuff off each piece and then asked if we could make orange juice with her pieces.  Ha! Ha!

Silhouette

I saved my birthday money and bought a Silhouette on Black Friday.  I am embarrassed to admit that when it came I let it sit in the box until a couple of weeks ago.  I think I was overwhelmed with the idea of learning to use it.  Ha!  Ha!

My friend Jessica has one and showed me the basics at a craft night in Gilroy.  Last week I was able to help my friend Aimee cut out a banner for her son, Gage's, birthday.  It turned out super cute!

Today I found myself helping another friend, Jessie, cut out butterflies for her daughters birthday party.  Awesome!

I am using my Silhouette!  Yay!

We are having a boy!

I can't figure out how to get the ultrasound picture on my computer or I would include it in this post.  :o)

This whole pregnancy I have thought that I was pregnant with a girl.  As Dave has said over and over again, I haven't been wrong yet so who was he to argue with me.  Ha! Ha!  :o)  Imagine my surprise when Kevin, our Ultrasound Tech, showed my the screen and it was a boy.  He looked at me and said, "Hey, 2 out of 3 ain't bad."

We are all very excited!
