T Ball

Lincoln got a T Ball set for his birthday.

The kids had so much fun playing with it today.  They each took turns hitting the ball while the other would run after it.  This turned out to be quite the workout since it was a surprise as to which way the ball was going to go each time they hit it.  Ha!  Ha!

They are so fun!

Rob's Birthday Robot

We were invited over to Rob's house for his birthday dinner.  BBQ  Yummy!

When we were talking about what to get him for his birthday someone said Robo Rob or Rob Robot, I can't remember.  But Payton and Lincoln insisted that we get him a robot for his birthday.

At Target they have these little robot bugs, I showed them to the kids and that was it.  That is what we had to get him.

When he opened it the kids were so excited to see it work.  It ended up entertaining all of us for about 15 minutes.  It skittered all over the floor, under the table, under the couch.  If it ran into a wall, no problem, it just turned around.  If it got flipped upside down, no problem, it just flipped itself back over.  I have to admit that it freaked me out a little bit, I didn't want it near me.  Ha!  Ha!

Valentine's Day Door Decorations

I have a love/hate relationship with the dollar section of Target.  Why is that?  Sometimes I find some great stuff other times not so much but it seems that I buy something from it each and every trip.  I should just walk right on by.  :o)

This last visit was a hit.  I found these cute little Valentine crafts for the kids to do.  The kids loved them, they each picked out the one they wanted to do!  Payton pretty much did hers by herself.  I have to admit to helping Lincoln with his.  The poor monkey would have ended up with his eye balls on his foot and ear...I just couldn't let him do it.  I hope that doesn't make me a bad mom.

Fun times!

Lincoln threw up all over me...

YUCK!!!!

I was talking to Dave on the phone and Lincoln came running into the kitchen.  I can't remember exactly how it happened but I had picked up Lincoln because he got a bump or something and was crying.  I was holding the phone between my ear and my shoulder and all of a sudden it happened...Lincoln threw up several times.  Each time with more volume.  When he was done, the throw up was in my hair, down the inside of the sleeve of my jacket and shirt, puddled in my lap, and all over him.  As long as I didn't move it was contained but as soon as I moved it went all over.

The smell...

Almaden Country School

Today was the Almaden Country School Open House.

It was so fun to see Payton explore the Begindergarten class room.  She colored, played with play dough, looked at the books, etc.  I think she touched almost everything at least once.  Ha!  Ha!

The teachers seemed really nice.  It was fun listening to them explain their curriculum.  We are all really excited for Payton to be able to start.  I think she is going to have a blast.

Dave told me that when he told Payton it was time to go she said she wanted to stay there forever.  :o)  Yay!

Lincoln has Croup

Last night Dave and I woke up and shot straight out of bed when we heard Lincoln barking like a seal.  We both looked at each other and said, "That sounds like Croup."

Yikes!  At least he doesn't have the wheezing with it like he did last time.

Family Birthday for Lincoln

Another celebration for our little Lincoln.  We had our family over for dinner and cake.  We had a barbecue and it was so yummy!

Once again my sister outdid herself with the cake.  It was so cute and so yummy.  We ate it everyday for at least a week.  It was definitely the gift that kept on giving.  :o)

Lincoln enjoyed being the center of attention.

I will say that this year Lincoln needed no help in opening his presents.  I was amazed at how fast he ripped those presents open.  He was so excited.  :o)  He got some really awesome gifts a few of them being a push bike, a scooter and helmet, a Brio train (battery powered), and a Kung Fu Panda stuffie.  He rode that bike and scooter all over the house.  Watched the Brio train go round and round the train track for at least a half hour straight.  Then tackled and threw that Ku Fu Panda stuffie all over the living room.  He definitely had a blast!

Lincoln's Birthday Play Date

Lincoln is turning 2!

We decided to have our regular play date and celebrate Lincoln's big day at the same time.

Lincoln LOVES anything Cars, so that was the theme we went with.

We didn't plan any games or special activities because let's face it their little attention spans just don't last that long.  Mostly they just played but I think they all had a fun time.

I am so glad that my sister has always been willing to supply us with birthday cakes.  She always does such a great job and they look and taste awesome!  This time was no different.  We even had a cupcake bandit.  LOL

Lincoln LOVED his cupcake.  Ha!  Ha!

Missteps...

I got the text message around 4 in the morning...Anthony's sister, Joyce, was sick and on her way to the ER and was not going to be able to watch Maddix.  My sister asked if I could watch him for the day.  I had a busy day ahead of me and told her that if she didn't mind me toting him all over the place that that would be fine.

The day was going great!  I have to admit that I was getting tired.  I had been to a presidency meeting, the party store, Costco, and was on my way to a different party store.  After this last store I would be done.  I pulled into the parking lot hoping for a spot right by the door so that I could just run in to the register and pick up what they had on hold for me...No such luck.  So I took a deep breath and got out of the car.  I went to the back driver's side door and got Payton out, walked her around the car, stood her by the tire, and asked her not to move.  Opened the back passenger side door, got Lincoln out, asked him to hold Payton's hand, and again told asked them not to move.  Went back in to get Maddix out of the middle back seat.  I backed out of the car pulling Maddix with me and quickly realized that my second step down out of the car was not on the sidewalk but was on Payton (they had decided to start twirling around).  As I tried to recover my footing with my next step I stepped on Lincoln, then Payton, and then Lincoln again.

At this point somehow my momentum changed to falling forward instead of back and all I could think of was, "Don't drop Maddix." which was quickly followed by, "Don't fall on Maddix."  When all was said and done I was on my hands and knees hovering over Maddix and Payton and Lincoln were sprawled out on the pavement.  All three kiddos were screaming.

I felt horrible.  But besides a few bruises and skinned hands and knees we were all OK.  Thankfully!

I did go into the store and got the last thing I needed, dropped Maddix off, and went straight home.  Yikes!

Burr!!!

When the kids go to bed in the evening Dave and I usually shut the heater off so that we can watch TV without having to turn the volume up really high to hear it over the heater.  Then when we are on our way to bed we turn it back on.

When I got up this morning, I thought it was a little cold but didn't think too much of it because I am always cold.  But when I came home from the gym it felt REALLY cold.  Then when I was feeding the kids breakfast both of them were sitting there shivering.  I finally just went over and checked the thermostat.  It read 58 degrees!  What?!?!?!

Evidently, we forgot to turn the heater back on when we went to bed the night before.  Whoops!

Caeden Spends the night.

Payton loves to play with her cousin Caeden.  She was so excited to have Caeden over for a little slumber party.

There was so much giggling...I think the only way they eventually went to bed was because Caeden had to go to the bathroom at around 10:00 and was gone long enough for Payton to fall asleep.  Ha!  Ha!

Lincoln Sleepwalks!

Imagine my surprise to find Lincoln in the middle of our bed babbling some kind of nonsense at around 2:00 in the morning. I was so tired I just rolled over and went back to sleep. A short while later I hear Dave, "What the..." as he rolled into Lincoln. Ha! Ha! So Dave got up and moved him back into his own bed.

About 4:00 Dave and I shoot out of bed to the sound of Lincoln screaming, running down the hallway, opening the door to the garage, and running right out. He was out the door before either of us were out of the bed. So scary!

When Dave got to him and picked him up he stopped crying and was out. So weird.

The Atruim gets a new look.

Dave found these recycled tiles that we could use in the atruim.  Super nice, super easy to install, and they almost feel like you are walking on the new playground turf.

It looks so much nicer out there now.  Oops!  I took the picture before we got everything picked up.  :o)  Oh well.

Lincoln help?

Dave is spending the last week of his Christmas/New years vacation doing those projects around the house that we just haven't had a chance to do.  Poor guy.  No rest for the weary I guess.

First up the atrium floor.

Step one.  Remove old tile.

Lincoln took one look at what daddy was doing and wanted to help.  It was so cute to watch him.  He watched Dave working outside for a few minutes then ran back to his room and came back out with his play goggles, hammer, and screwdriver saying, "Lincoln help?"  Over and over again.

Lincoln gets a big boy bed.

The time has come for Lincoln to move from crib to toddler bed.  To say he is excited would be an under statement.  Ha! Ha!
